Time In Nature is a consultancy run by Nick Bubb, offering a range of services with a common link to nature and the outdoors.
Growing up on the water from the age of five, Nick has had a lifelong passion for the natural world. After graduating from the University of Exeter with an engineering degree and as a British Universities dinghy sailing champion, he spent ten years as a professional ocean racer, competing in various round the world and solo trans-Atlantic races, before moving into finance as a discretionary fund manager.
In 2012/13, Nick acted as an ambassador for Fauna & Flora International (FFI) whilst skippering an expedition in Antarctica, which retraced Sir Ernest Shackleton’s famous voyage from Elephant Island to South Georgia. This re-enactment was part of a Discovery Channel documentary highlighting not only some of the enormous challenges that these men faced over a century ago but also some of the effects of climate change in the intervening years.
Following this incredible adventure, Nick was recruited by FFI to the role of Business Development Director. Nick has since been helping to grow their programme, promote the importance and visibility of their work -protecting many of the world’s most critically endangered species and habitats- and trying to generate support at all levels, from governments, to corporations, foundations, national lotteries, family offices and private individuals.
In recent years, Nick has led expeditions all over the world and represented the organisation at events such as the World Economic Forum, Founders Forum and the Klosters Forum, whilst giving major speeches at The Global Green Economic Forum, the Institutional Investor Wealth Conference and a popular TEDx talk focussed on inspiring conservation action. During the 2019 General Election, Nick was the Green Party candidate for New Forest West.
